2026 Flying Pig & Memorial Picnic

Well, well, well…

In the words of Quinny (and his favorite beat from Moana), well, well, well…it’s time to talk Pig!

Hello friends, family, neighbors & community,

We would love to welcome you to join us once again at the Flying Pig as part of the Quinn Malin Szekeresh Memorial Running Club (QMSRC).

This year marks five years since Quinn left us. In all honesty, writing this is the first time I’ve said that, and it’s an awful milestone. Celebrating his life at the Pig means so much to us, in so many different ways:

  • This event is the cornerstone of fundraising for our organization. It is the foundation of what we have been able to contribute to-date and for building towards future projects and growing our impact. We are looking to grow our work in 2026; more to come.

  • It’s centered the running club. The QMSRC mission has always been to improve health and build community through running. Training runs (and subsequent banter!), in rain or shine, culminate in the Pig each year.

  • It’s time together. Though life gets very busy, this weekend is one of community, cheering each other on, of talking about Quinn and building upon those memories with ones we make each year. Quinn is the reason that happens.

Whether you plan to run, walk, volunteer, cheer from the sidelines, or support from afar, we’re grateful to share this time with you. If you’re interested in signing up for an event, you can use our discount code: QMSFPM26

We have a few updates for this year:

We are rebuilding our email list. If you would like to be included, please fill out our very short survey to help us get this to be more accurate.

A picnic-specific email will follow closer to the date to nail down details.

Out-of-town friends: we are recommending the following hotels (to be added).

Improving our group connections. We’re working on a 10k-to-Half running group for Denver (or virtual). We’ll also update this page every few weeks with sign ups to help link up runners, walkers, and cheer-ers.

Lastly, we’re bringing back merch! We’ll have new patches for the group, and are toying with a running shirt. More to come.

We hope you’ll join us in whatever way feels right. We’re grateful for each of you and for the way this weekend continues to bring us together.

With love and gratitude,
Sarah, Daniel, Ames, & Esme, with the The Quinn Malin Szekeresh Memorial Running Club
